Good Genealogy Morning everyone! I hope everyone is off to a great week. Here in Southern California, we are having a rainy few days. I know that not many people like the rain, but I LOVE the rain. Yup, I love hearing the rain fall and walking in the rain. I truly enjoy it. I hope wherever you are at, you are enjoying the weather there. I just wanted to update you all on a few things coming.
First I would like to thank you, my readers. A few days ago I celebrated my 6th Blogiversary! I couldn’t believe that it has been six years since I have started this blog but time sure does fly by fast. I have had many genealogy finds, met many geneabuddies, and attended many, many genealogy conferences. I am very happy to have started this journey and I wouldn’t change anything about it. Thank you for joining me on this ride.
Second, two weeks from today I will be flying to Salt Lake City, UT to attend Roots Tech. Roots Tech is a conference that brings genealogy and technology together. I am very excited to attend and I will be posting in a day or two about what my schedule will look like. I am a bit apprehensive, you see this Southern California girl, one who has seen snow but never while it is falling, is a bit nervous about the normal weather Salt Lake City gets this time of year. Although it has been cold here in L.A., it has not been the likes of Salt Lake City in the winter!
I have been told that it has been snowing this week and it wouldn’t surprise me if our So. Cal rains ended up in Utah as snow. I have been told to layer and so I will after I make a few purchases to supplement my winter wardrobe! I will be flying to Utah two days before the conference. You cannot be in Salt Lake City without visitng the Family History Library there and doing some research. I have a plan of attack, well genealogy research attack that I will deploy while I have my two days of free time there and will be posting it here in a few days.
Third, I will be out of commission for a few weeks after I come back from Roots Tech. I have surgery scheduled (nothing serious) but the pain will render me useless for a while, or so I have been told. I do plan to have posts scheduled to publish, like all that has gone on at Roots Tech that was not genealogy research related. After all, it’s not like Las Vegas. What happens in Salt Lake City doesn’t always stay in Salt Lake City. As soon as I am able to sit up and be on my laptop without pain, I will be back to posting.
So thank you again for joining me on this blogging ride, it has been fun. Are you attending Roots Tech? Please comment and let me know, maybe we can meet for a cup of tea or coffee.
